Job summary

Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering seeks an Early Career Mechanical Engineer for our Lone Tree, CO office. You will contribute to mechanical/system designs, calculations, and standards across biogas, water treatment, and industrial facilities with a growth mindset.

You will collaborate on PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, and on-site support while developing technical and professional skills in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• GPA above 3.0 preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with hydraulic simulation software (AFT Fathom/Arrow) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of mechanical systems for biogas, bulk solids handling, water/wastewater, pumps and conveyance.
• Prepare design calculations and equipment specifications.
• Review contracts and ensure design aligns with project goals.
• Perform bid analyses for equipment and systems.
• Generate and check PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets and shop drawings.
• Support on-site construction team with design solutions and RFIs.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners and track progress.
• Help develop schedules, assignments and staffing needs.
• Conduct early design studies and facility layout work.
• Complete miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
