Job summary

Jaros, Baum & Bolles in Boston is seeking entry-level engineers to join the HVAC and Plumbing & Fire Protection departments, launching your engineering career with mentorship, hands-on project experience, and exposure to a variety of sectors.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on fit-out, base-building upgrades, distribution systems, and building utilities, gaining experience in drawings, site visits, and coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field (by Summer 2026).
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks on fit-out, base building, and infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Assemble riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans.
• Assist in planning and coordination of major distribution systems, equipment rooms, closets, shafts, and risers.
• Review shop drawings and perform site visits and punch lists under senior supervision.
• Design HVAC systems including distribution, recirculation, and exhaust.
• Design plumbing systems including water, gas, and waste distribution.
• Work on facility utilities such as chilled water, heating water, steam, and condensate.
• Lay out sprinkler systems and perform basic calculations for pipe sizing, design densities, and pump horsepower.
