Job summary

Saalex is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer in Ridgecrest/China Lake, CA to support the design, development, testing, integration, and sustainment of mechanical systems and equipment.

The role involves collaboration with engineers, technicians, and project teams, creating drawings and documentation, performing analyses, and participating in design reviews to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience supporting electrical design, testing, integration, or troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components.
• Support fabrication, installation, integration, and testing activities.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses related to structural, thermal, or mechanical system performance.
• Support troubleshooting and corrective action efforts for mechanical equipment and assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
• Assist with materials selection and evaluation activities.
• Support system verification, validation, and acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing personnel.
• Ensure engineering products comply with project requirements and applicable standards.
