Job summary

Advanced Technology & Research Corporation is seeking a junior Mechanical/Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our Bethesda team. This full-time role supports the Navy's Underwater Electromagnetic Signatures Silencing program and involves hands-on testing, data collection, and analysis to validate performance.

Contracted duties include assisting in development and execution at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, with opportunities to learn solid modeling, instrumentation, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Navy or DoD internship a plus.

Responsibilities

Jr. Mechanical/Test & Evaluation Engineer

Location: Bethesda, MD Type: Full Time Min. Experience: Entry Level: Salary Range: $86,000-$101,000 USD per year

Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (www.atrcorp.com) is seeking to fill the following full-time permanent position. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site, located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD, involved in development and execution of the US Navy’s Underwater Electromagnetic (UEM) Signatures Silencing program as a Test and Evaluation engineer. Other duties include, but not limited to:

  • Navy Surface Ships and Submarine on-board counter measure systems and fleet support
  • Ensure proper testing and evaluation of on-board and off-board UEM, navigation, communication, and tracking systems
  • Provide technical assistance and training to Navy operators.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Internship experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience using solid modeling, analysis, and evaluation of structural/component design
  • Experience with mechanical measurement tools and techniques
  • Experience with developing technical solutions based on analysis or testing
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, AutoCAD, C++, Python, Power Point, MS Word & Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Travel will be required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
