Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000 USD per year

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as an electronics engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. The applicant will work as part of a design, test, and evaluation team and also on data acquisition, software development, computer networks, and underwater electronic system designs.

Develop project plans and test plans and conduct land/ocean‑based field tests/demonstrations of advanced sensor systems. Write test reports and brief designs, test plans, and test reports to upper management and sponsors.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of electronics hardware development experience
• Job experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in analog & digital circuit design
• Experience with software tools such as Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or MATLAB
• Understanding of analog controls and signal conditioning amplifier design
• Understanding of circuit noise analysis and noise mitigation techniques
• Experience simulating amplifier circuits using SPICE or similar tools
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, Cadence)
• Knowledge of best practices with regards to hardware development, layout and circuit design
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, time‑domain reflectometers, DVM, function generators, etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
• Travel to other Navy sites may be required (occasionally)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national‑security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
