Job summary

ETS-Lindgren is seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering group. You will draft CAD drawings, create 2D manufacturing docs and 3D models, and maintain BOMs for established product lines.

The role requires SolidWorks skills, ability to read technical drawings, and collaboration with Planning, Manufacturing and Procurement to drive projects forward.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks training and experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience with or interface with machine shop, sheetmetal, welding and mechanical assembly.

Position Description

• CAD drafting and document control for the Mechanical Engineering Group
• Create 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models
• Perform mechanical design work on established product lines and maintain standard product BOM’s
• Interface with Planning, Manufacturing and Procurement on projects

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
• Associate’s degree or equivalent; or five to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience
• SolidWorks training and experience
• Experience with or interface with machine shop, Sheetmetal, welding and mechanical assembly
• Knowledge of standard drafting practices
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret applicable drawings, technical specifications, and applicable documents
• Ability to comprehend and apply principles of mechanical design, mathematics and computer aided design
• Knowledge of and experience with modern mechanical manufacturing and assembly
• Ability to effectively present information to teams or similar peer groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledgeable and efficient using SolidWorks
