Job summary

Roper Pump Company seeks an engineer to create and revise 3D CAD models and detailed drawings, driving product development from concept to production. You will perform basic calculations, participate in design reviews, and help validate designs through lab and production testing.

You will generate documentation, support prototype validation, and work with manufacturing to ensure cost-effective, reliable designs. A degree in mechanical engineering or related field and CAD proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar).
• Understanding of dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing standards.
• Basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings in accordance with company drafting standards.
• Assist in the development of new products, components, and assemblies from concept through production.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support product performance, safety, and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
• Participate in testing in the engineering lab and production.
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, DCNs/DRNs, test procedures, and technical reports.
• Support prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities.
• Assist with sustaining engineering efforts to support operations and maintain performance of existing products
• Work with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and optimized for production.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues related to design, quality, or performance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Sales.
• Communicate design intent clearly through models, drawings, and presentations.
• Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and standardization initiatives.
