Job summary

SCHWING America is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanic to join our CPR team in Minnesota. This hands-on role focuses on assisting with the assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and repair of concrete pumping equipment, while gaining experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a collaborative, manufacturing environment.

The position emphasizes learning from experienced, certified mechanics and developing practical repair skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification, vocational training, or an associate degree in automotive repair or related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge or understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in learning equipment repair and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced mechanics with mechanical repairs, maintenance, and equipment assembly.
• Assemble and disassemble various types of equipment and mechanical components.
• Inspect assembled parts and equipment to ensure proper operation and quality.
• Connect hydraulic lines and fill hydraulic systems with oil in preparation for testing.
• Perform general equipment repairs under the supervision of a Certified Mechanic.
• Assist with identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe working condition.
• Participate in shop cleanup and continuous improvement activities.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
