Job Description:

The Junior Mechanic must be able to complete basic repairs and perform preventive maintenance on light and heavy-duty equipment, critical to the safety and up-time of our equipment. This is an entry-level technician role which requires a dependable individual and offers the opportunity to learn and advance skills with a focus on safety, time management, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs on equipment and vehicles
• Perform oil changes, fluid checks, grease services, filter replacements, and tire inspections
• Assist with equipment diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and parts replacement under the supervision of senior mechanic
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and services to ensure optimal performance
• Maintain service records and inspection checklists
• Conduct daily equipment inspections
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of oils, filters, and other materials in accordance with environmental regulations
• Operate service trucks and tools in a safe and professional manner
• Support clean and organized workspaces in shop and field settings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance
• Basic tool knowledge and ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor job sites
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on feet for extended periods

Preferred Experience:

• 1+ years in a related field (mechanic, diesel tech, shop assistant, etc.)
• Familiarity with construction equipment and trucks (excavators, loaders, pickups, trailers)

Job Type:

Position will be permanent full-time with overtime and occasional Saturday’s during the construction season.
