Job summary

Gulf Copper is seeking an experienced Outfitting Designer to support the safe outfitting and interior design of marine vessels. You will develop accommodation and interior layouts, coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical and naval teams, and ensure design deliverables meet project requirements.

You will perform checks for accuracy and production readiness, participate in design reviews, and help maintain schedules and documentation to support production planning and milestones.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Technical Drafting with 0–3 years of relevant experience in marine outfitting design or shipbuilding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical docs.
• Understanding of marine deck arrangements, accommodations, interior outfitting, and shipboard outfitting.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and marine 3D design software.
• Experience with AVEVA Marine or similar marine design software, Navisworks, and production-ready deck drawings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support safe execution of outfitting and marine interior design activities.
• Develop accommodation, furniture, fixtures, interior deck layouts, equipment layouts, foundations, and outfitting drawings.
• Coordinate deck equipment and outfitting with structure, mechanical, electrical, naval architecture, and other disciplines.
• Perform self checks on design deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Coordinate deck machinery, equipment, foundations, supports, ladders, railings, doors, and outfitting.
• Coordinate interior details, marine furniture, joinery, insulation, deck coverings, doors, panels, and other interior systems.
• Coordinate engineering information to support material takeoffs, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Review engineering changes and update design docs as directed.
