Job summary

Huntington is seeking an OS Platform Engineer I to join our mainframe-focused IT team in Ohio. You will support z/OS environments, coordinate with ISVs, and contribute to reliable operation and recovery planning.

You will engage with Mainframe Engineers, Systems Programmers, and application teams to implement, configure, and maintain critical platforms, applying best practices and continuous learning in a demanding banking context.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with tech exposure or related experience.
• Interest in IT and banking technology environments.
• Willingness to train and obtain mainframe certifications as needed.
• Experience or coursework in z/OS fundamentals is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 on-call in team rotation after training.
• Work independently and in an agile team environment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in systems administration.
• Prioritize multiple tasks within a collaborative setting.
• Resolve system and application issues with mainframe engineers and users.
• Learn disaster recovery and contingency planning procedures.
• Understand z/OS core concepts and related tooling listed above.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
