Job Title: Junior Level Administrative Assistant - 152853-1

Location: Bldg 5, Redmond, WA (Onsite - 5/week)

Schedule: M-F, 40 HR

Duration/Start Date: 6/9/2025

Salary: $24/hourly

Candidates with previous experience working at Microsoft Corporation, either as a full-time employee (FTE) or contractor, are strongly preferred.

Typical Day in the Role

Purpose of the Team: They are part of the Azure Data team. The purpose of this team is to be responsible for database products, data integration, and data management products.

Key projects: This role will contribute to on-site group admin tasks, hardware ordering, inventory management, site space management, and potentially calendaring for executives, etc.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 10 meetings, 20% hardware management including updating desks and basic space management, potentially 20% calendaring, 50% team support (including ordering snacks and supplies, budget management, and supporting on-site activities like meetings and parties, etc.)

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of complex administrative functions for all levels of management including external business partners.
  • Manages schedule(s), coordinates travel arrangements and processes business expenses. Coordinates meetings and events, department financial operations, personnel operations, and facility operations.
  • Manages procurement of goods and services including computer equipment, office supplies, reference materials, and vendor relationships. Provides general office support.
  • Serves as the department/group contact. Completes special projects as assigned. Role requires all hours to be onsite in Redmond, Washington.

Candidate Requirements

Years of Experience Required: 2-4+ overall years of experience in the field.

Degrees or certifications required: None required, but nice to have

Disqualifiers: Candidates who cannot commit to being on site 5 days & who have a history of job hopping (sponsor needs to see consistency on the resume) will not be eligible for the role.

Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain someone who can confidently engage with all levels of the organization, including senior-level FTEs, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Strong attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with admins are important. Previous Microsoft experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience with organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience with Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience with strong Excel skills (ideally someone who can us v-lookups, though not required. They should be able to pick up and learn quickly.

Hard Skills Assessments

  • Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: the week of the 18th.
  • Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include first round with sponsor (quick chat), second round with 2 FTE, potential 3rd round.
