Job summary

Baton Corporation is seeking a Legal Associate for its graduate programme to gain exposure to regulatory affairs, product counsel, compliance and governance. You will research live regulatory questions from day one, help manage legal matters, and contribute to building our legal processes.

This hands-on role involves working directly with decision-makers and owning a defined area within the first year, in a fast-paced, in-person environment with long hours and high impact.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-ranked US law program preferred.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; bar exam results pending are welcome.
• Genuine interest in digital assets, fintech, or tech regulation.
• Strong written and analytical skills, sound judgment, and ability to work with non-lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory research on US digital asset law (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OFAC) and international frameworks.
• Assist with legal review of product launches and go-to-market materials with product/engineering teams.
• Support drafting and administration of commercial contracts and data agreements.
• Assist the compliance function with AML/KYC programme documentation and audits.
• Provide research support on data privacy matters (GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to products.
• Support corporate governance administration and records across US entities.
• Assist with IP administration including trademark filings and brand protection.
• Collaborate with outside counsel on regulatory inquiries and enforcement requests.
• Own a defined area within 6–12 months, as agreed with GC/CLO.
