Job summary

Sunrise Systems seeks a Lab Technician-Jr to oversee daily laboratory operations and support testing activities in a 12-month W2 contract in Pittsburgh, PA. You’ll calibrate equipment, manage assets, track inventory, and help maintain SOPs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance.

The role requires a technical degree and 3–5 years’ lab experience, with strong safety and data-recording skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical equivalent in Laboratory Sciences, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Experience maintaining laboratory equipment and performing routine tests.
• Familiarity with safety standards and quality systems (ISO, GMP, GLP).
• Proficient with MS Office and laboratory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily lab operations ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on lab equipment; troubleshoot issues.
• Track asset locations and availability in the asset system.
• Coordinate inventory of lab supplies and chemical consumables; place orders as needed.
• Prepare samples, conduct routine tests, and ensure accurate data recording.
• Update SOPs and document laboratory activities.
• Train staff, interns, or contractors on safety and technical procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing on projects requiring lab services.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab environment in line with EHS standards.
• Prepare reports and metrics on lab performance and compliance.
