Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Handler will be responsible for screening cargo in compliance with TSA rules and regulations. The Junior Handler must complete a 4-8 week minimum team training course and certification prior to deployment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in CCSP training to search cargo and identify threats
  • Conduct duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed
  • Operate as Junior Handler commanding a trained working dog
  • Maintain training records and care for the assigned certified canine, including ensuring the residence is suitable and subject to inspections
  • Maintain all job-related certifications and security clearances
  • Operate company vehicle during training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a KTN, SIDA badge, and STA within 4-6 weeks
  • Reliable transportation with climate control for canine transport
  • Pass relevant certifications within 4-8 weeks and maintain them
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license; REAL ID compliant or valid passport
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform duties in various weather conditions
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work varies from training environments to fieldwork, often outdoors in adverse weather, including heat, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, and vibration. Work hours include nights, weekends, and holidays, with travel as needed.
