A.S.Adventure in Hoboken is hiring a junior backend developer to build real backend features, APIs and data queries using Java, Spring Boot and AWS. You will work closely with senior engineers and learn our architectural patterns.

This role requires 0-3 years of backend experience, proficiency in Java, REST APIs, Git and databases. Working languages are Dutch and English; on-site in Hoboken with opportunities to grow and learn AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years backend experience.
• You can write and understand Java; Spring Boot and AWS come with the job.
• Team language is Dutch and English; good communication required.
• Experience with REST APIs and HTTP requests/responses.
• Hands-on time with Git and a database (SQL or NoSQL).

Responsibilities

• Build real backend features, API endpoints, and database queries with Java.
• Work closely with senior engineers and follow architectural patterns.
• Write unit and integration tests from day one; participate in code reviews.
• Understand security and privacy considerations beyond checklists.
• Own your sprint work; collaborate in stand-ups and refinements.
• Learn AI/LlM tooling and apply patterns under guidance.
