Job summary

ESG Consulting is seeking a motivated Security Engineer to support SOC automation, cloud security, OT/IoT and transportation-connected systems. This is a full-time contract paid hourly, with 40 hours per week and no defined end date.

The ideal candidate will take initiative, research options, test solutions, troubleshoot issues, and document findings. Residency in Georgia or willingness to relocate is required; citizens or GC holders only.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated initiative in cybersecurity with examples of investigating or improving something.
• Ability to turn a broad objective into a practical plan and execute independently.
• Hands-on security experience from work, home labs, or projects and ability to explain actions taken.
• Working knowledge of networking and security fundamentals (IP, ports, DNS, access controls, logs).
• Basic scripting or automation ability with practical usage of scripts.
• Strong troubleshooting, quick learning of new tech, and clear communication/documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build scripts and security workflows to improve alert investigation, enrichment, triage, and response.
• Help improve cloud logging, monitoring, access controls, and secure configurations.
• Investigate and secure connected devices and their network communications (e.g., CCTV, sensors, transportation systems).
• Collaborate with Application and DevOps teams on security concerns in apps and deployments.
• Research unfamiliar issues, propose practical solutions, coordinate changes, and document results.
