Job summary

Castro & Company is seeking an IT Audit Staff to join our Information Technology practice. You will review IT controls, document assessments, and support senior team members while working with federal clients in a collaborative, mentorship‑driven environment.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in IT risk and controls, focusing on general and application controls, with opportunities to grow technical and advisory skills in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in information systems, accounting, computer science, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or academic exposure preferred).
• Foundational understanding of IT risks, general controls, and relation to business processes.
• Strong communication and documentation skills to clearly convey findings.
• High attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Security Clearance: US Citizenship required; pass basic government suitability check.

Responsibilities

• Review policies, procedures, and documentation for in-scope systems and processes.
• Support walkthrough meetings and document IT control assessments under supervision.
• Assist in evaluating general IT controls (GITCs), application controls, and business process controls.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks and help develop improvement recommendations.
• Prepare clear, organized workpapers and summaries of testing results.
• Collaborate with audit and advisory teams to align IT and business process reviews.
• Participate in client discussions and deliver high-quality, value-driven results.
