Overview
As a TAG Junior IT Administrator, you will handle hands‑on kit assembly, imaging, asset tagging, inventory control, and field issuance/returns. You will perform device QA, peripheral management (Faraday bags, data blockers, MFA tokens), and basic troubleshooting. In this role, you’ll maintain accurate lifecycle records over 2–3 years.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive, unbox, and inspect COTS devices (laptops, tablets, VPN routers) and security peripherals; verify against purchase orders and government-specified requirements.
- Asset tag, serialize, and record devices in inventory systems; prepare kits to standard BOMs.
- Apply golden images and profiles; join devices to management (Intune/Endpoint Manager); run validation checklists.
- Stage VPN clients, MFA/2FA methods, and required software; perform functional testing prior to issuance.
- Maintain real‑time inventory accuracy; perform cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies; manage spares pool and RMAs.
- Issue kits to users; coordinate local delivery/receipt; record chain of custody and tamper‑evident seal status; process returns and end‑of‑life sanitization per SOP.
- Handle basic tickets (password/MFA resets, client install issues, peripheral replacements); escalation when needed.
- Keep build sheets, issuance forms, and checklists current; update knowledge base with common fixes.
Position Requirements
- 1–3 years experience in IT operations or hardware support.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA A+.
- Technical Skills: Windows/mobility basics, hardware assembly, imaging tools, inventory systems; comfort with VPN/MFA setup steps and peripherals.
- Soft Skills: Detail orientation, reliability, safe handling, and clear documentation.
Preferred
- Experience with RMA processes and chain‑of‑custody protocols.
- Prior USG support experience or familiarity with compliance‑minded operations.
