Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with multiple technical teams (Information Assurance, Engineering, Testing, Configuration Management, Training).
• Proposing and demonstrating technical approaches in alignment with military standards and specifications.
• Managing multiple projects concurrently while communicating successes and challenges with the integrated technical team.
• Adhering to prescribed configuration management for all coding.
• Configure and build Toughbooks for USN and Foreign Military Sales shipments.
• Evaluating hardware and software (OS, patches, STIGs) for obsolescence mitigation and cyber compliance.
• Porting applications to new hardware and resolving existing trouble tickets.
• Collaborating with government personnel to set up lab equipment, including software installation/updates and system configuration.
• Supporting Information Assurance with MK41 Vertical Launch System equipment scans.
• Installing new software (OS, patches, STIGs) to meet cyber compliance.
• Creating and maintaining relevant documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, configurations (software and hardware), and related materials.

Requirements

• DOD 8140 certification at IAT Level II (Security + CE, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
• BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Five (5) years of experience with Windows operating systems – patching, scanning, STIGing, group policy modifications.
• Five (5) years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems – patching, scanning, STIGing, group policy modifications.
• Experience demonstrating the ability to engineer complex systems with integrated software and hardware solutions.
• Debugging and performance optimization skills to garner processing efficiencies by avoiding or quickly identifying bottlenecks, memory leaks, and general inefficiencies in processing.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with object-oriented languages such as Java, C#, C++.
• Experience performing software design, coding and compilation of code; computer or software requirements management, computer systems or software integration; and utilizing systems engineering software tools; system architecture design.
• Experience with programming languages and tools like C/C++, Jira, Jenkins, and GitLab.
• Experience with developing mobile software and GUIs.
