Job summary

Balmoral Advisors in Chicago seeks an Analyst to work directly with senior bankers on live transactions in a lean, apprenticeship-style environment. You will contribute across deal execution and business development, gaining hands-on experience from day one.

The role is based in Chicago with the option to work from home locally up to two days per week, and start date on or before early January, 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record and demonstrated leadership.
• Strong foundation in finance and accounting.
• Demonstrated financial modeling and valuation experience, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled research and productivity tools preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and work extended hours when required.
• FINRA Series 79 registration preferred; otherwise, ability to obtain required securities licenses promptly after joining.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Balmoral Advisors is unable to provide employment-based immigration sponsorship for this position now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Build financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction-related analyses.
• Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and confidential deal marketing materials.
• Analyze company financials, operating performance, and industry dynamics.
• Conduct industry and company research; synthesize findings into clear insights.
• Develop lists of potential buyers, investors, and acquisition targets.
• Support senior bankers in day-to-day transaction execution and business development.
• Domestic travel approximately 7-8 times per year or as needed.
