Job summary

Gensler in Chicago is seeking a Designer to combine creativity with technical knowledge to deliver purposeful, functional spaces for clients. You should have a background in interiors or interior design and a portfolio demonstrating innovative concepts.

You will work with teams to develop 3D models in Revit/SketchUp, specify finishes, coordinate with consultants, and contribute to a collaborative design environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design or architecture from an accredited school.
• 0+ years of interior design/architecture project leadership; recent workplace experience required.
• LEED accreditation or WELL AP preferred; experience delivering sustainable design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior design assignments: space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
• Independent judgment in evaluation and adaptation of standard techniques.
• Assist in selection of furniture, fabrics, colors, lighting and FF&E.
• Generate design using 3D models; produce digital 3D views to communicate concepts.
• Prepare interior finishes, ceiling plans, elevations, details, and construction specs.
• Provide design support and documentation during execution of concepts; coordinate with external consultants and vendors.
• Collaborate with design and professional staff across the office; contribute to team activities and learning programs.
