Sutro Architects is an award-winning, design-driven firm specializing in high-end residential and select commercial projects. We’re looking for a thoughtful, motivated Junior Interior Designer to join our San Francisco studio — splitting time between interior design/interior architecture and architectural design support — and to contribute to a collaborative team that values creativity, curiosity, and kindness.
At Sutro, you’ll have the opportunity to work on beautiful, diverse projects across a range of styles and contexts. You’ll work closely with our interiors lead, taking ownership of interior design deliverables and procurement while also supporting our architectural project teams — and growing as a designer and leader along the way.
Our culture is supportive, collegial, and grounded in respect. Everyone in our studio has a voice in the design process, opportunities to mentor and be mentored, and exposure to every aspect of a project from concept through construction.
We operate on a flexible, hybrid schedule that blends in-office collaboration with remote work.
Designer first. Highly organized operator second. Procurement-minded. Technically capable. A strong eye for style. Polished and professional. Takes ownership.
Successful candidates are strong team players who can take initiative and contribute across both interior design and architectural project phases—from concept through construction administration.
The starting salary range for this position is $75,000–$95,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and the level of responsibility assigned. This is a full-time position with a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
