Job summary

Southern Company seeks an Application Developer I (Integrations) to design and develop integration solutions and support COTS applications for Gas Technology Delivery and Southern Company Gas. Under supervision, you will work across multiple languages and technologies to deliver robust integration components and enhancements.

You will participate in the full software development life cycle, contribute to documentation, and support deployment and production stability.

Qualifications

• Assists in identifying potential solutions leveraging COTS where possible.
• Participates in creating Technical Design documents with supervision.
• Collaborates with Senior Programmers on coding and development plans.
• Translates specifications into code meeting performance requirements with supervision.
• Modifies software to fix errors and upgrade interfaces under supervision.
• Troubleshoots, debugs, maintains and improves existing software with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develops unit tests for code components or complete applications.
• Participates in system testing as required.
• Supports deployment activities to implement solutions.
• Maintains production support processes to identify root causes.
• Keeps customer demands in mind during production support and project work.
• Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Aligns work with Technology Organization goals and strategies.
