Job summary

Contra Costa County’s Department of Conservation & Development seeks an Information Systems Programmer and Analyst I to support and maintain enterprise systems. You will work with IT staff across MS SQL Server, SSRS/Crystal Reports, Oracle/Access, and web technologies to deliver reliable data solutions.

The role emphasizes developing new applications, reporting, and BI dashboards while staying current with laws, policies, and department workflows.

Qualifications

Education: AA degree in CS or information processing or 24 college credits in CS/IS.
Experience: 1 year of software applications programming or systems analysis.
Substitution: additional experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

Developing new applications and maintaining existing ones.
Familiarizing with department databases and information systems.
Learn/apply laws, policies, and regulations affecting information systems changes.
Work with staff to interpret requirements for system enhancements or reports.
Test, troubleshoot and implement system upgrades and enhancements.
Provide guidance on information systems policies and procedures.
Write SQL queries and stored procedures for batch processing.
Create ad-hoc queries and reports using Excel, Power BI, SSRS, and related tools.
Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI.
Develop front end interfaces and BI content in internal sites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Monitor and report on project progress and issues; document business processes.
