Job summary

Crux Product Design in the Boston area is seeking a Junior Human Factors Engineer to contribute to medical devices, consumer and digital products across development stages. You will collaborate with internal teams and global clients to ensure user needs are addressed early and often throughout design.

You will perform desk and field research, use-related risk management, and plan and conduct Human Factors studies, delivering clear reports aligned with regulatory standards.

Job description

Position Overview

Crux is on the lookout for an exceptionally talented Junior Human Factors Engineer.

Based in our Boston (US) office, you will be exposed to an array of exciting projects, ranging from medical devices to consumer and digital products, across all phases of development. Working closely with internal project teams and global clients to develop safe and usable devices, ensuring that user needs are considered early and often throughout the design process.

The role involves a range of activities such as desk and field research, use-related risk management, planning and conducting Human Factors studies and compiling results into clear and concise reports, appropriate for client teams and in accordance with regulatory standards.

Essential:
  • Proactive attitude.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within multiple cross-disciplinary teams and be client facing.
  • Understanding of Human Factors techniques and usability principles.
  • An ability to synthesise a lot of information and distil it into meaningful design recommendations.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Due to the nature of this role, employment is subject to a satisfactory CORI check, in accordance with MA state laws and regulations.
Desirable:
  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience in the medical, pharma or health industries.
