Job summary

AMAX is seeking a System Engineer to join its Engineering team in Fremont, CA. You will design, deploy, validate, and troubleshoot high-performance computing systems and enterprise server platforms, with emphasis on Linux environments and GPU-based computing.

You will install Linux, bring up new hardware, and support customer deployments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet performance and scalability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience with server hardware, HPC systems, or data center infra.
• Strong Linux experience (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, validate and troubleshoot HPC systems and servers.
• Install and maintain Linux OS and system software.
• Perform bring-up, validation, and performance testing of hardware.
• Resolve hardware, firmware, and OS issues across clusters.
• Collaborate with teams to define specs and interfaces hardware/software.
• Review quotes and assist in technical issue resolution.
• Develop system documentation and install procedures.
• Support customer deployments and proof-of-concept testing.
• Monitor performance and propose improvements.
