Job summary

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and ongoing study of new theories and procedures.
• Serves as a positive role model through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Understands and interprets state/league regulations for staff.
• Follows proper administrative channels for requests and meetings.
• Establishes philosophy, skills and techniques with staff; designs clinics and staff meetings.
• Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth and clinic attendance.
• Delegates duties, supervises implementation, and evaluates staff effectiveness.
• Maintains discipline and morale; performs additional duties as assigned by Athletic Director/Principal.
• Assists Athletic Director with scheduling, transportation, and event requirements; ensures facilities times are adhered to.
• Mentors athletes, monitors grades and conduct, provides guidance and safeguards during travel and events.
• Develops and enforces training rules and sport regulations for participants.
