Job summary

RE-1 Valley School District in Sterling, CO, seeks a Head Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The role reports to the Athletic Director and emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and alignment with district athletic goals.

The ideal candidate will have wrestling experience, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate schedules and coaching staff. This is a seasonal, extra-duty position with a stipend.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Complete RE-1 Valley Schools online application along with 3 letters of reference.
• Willing and able to drive to away games, camps, scrimmages.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and excel in wrestling.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet needs of student-athletes.
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Ensure all wrestling coaches work together toward a common goal within the program and provide unity with a feeder system.
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities.
