Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking a wrestling coach for West High School (grades 7-12). The role emphasizes building rapport with culturally diverse students, enforcing district policies, and promoting the full athletic program.

The coach will support the feeder program and travel to contests as required. Successful candidates should hold Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement and complete NFHS concussion training; prior state-level competition

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition at state level is desired.
• Complete online application including a resume and 3 letters of reference.
• Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.

Responsibilities

• Coach the West High wrestling program and support feeder program.
• Promote the athletic program and adhere to district policies.
• Supervise players during transport to practices and contests.
• Monitor academic standards and enforce district policies.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate with athletic directors.
• Travel to West High School for practices and contests.
• Ensure safety and supervise students in all settings.
