Job summary

Paton-Churdan Community School District is seeking a dedicated Junior High Volleyball Coach to lead and develop our junior high volleyball program. The role focuses on coaching, mentoring, and building a positive team culture for the fall season.

The coach will plan practices, develop skills, and ensure adherence to district and state rules while promoting academics and personal growth among student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Prior volleyball coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and game strategies.
• Effective communication with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Must have or obtain Iowa coaching license before coaching.
• Successful background checks and employment requirements completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct effective practices and competitions.
• Teach and develop student-athletes' volleyball skills, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
• Provide leadership, encouragement, and mentorship to student-athletes.
• Collaborate with school administration, coaching staff, and other stakeholders.
• Support the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Follow all school district, conference, and state athletic association rules and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
