Qualifications

• Current valid Utah teaching license in Special Education with Mild/Moderate Disabilities Endorsement (minimum).
• Preferred: Utah Mathematics endorsement, or demonstrated experience teaching students with disabilities in junior high math.
• Strong knowledge of Utah state standards and special education policies and procedures.
• Experience with students who have a range of disabilities at the secondary level.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Professional communication skills with staff and families.
• Pass education verification and professional references.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and assist in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging Junior High lessons aligned with curriculum and IEPs.
• Provide specialized math instruction and support for students with IEP goals.
• Develop, implement, and revise IEPs; schedule and lead IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents/guardians, paraeducators, and related service providers to implement IEPs.
• Administer diagnostic assessments, use data to set goals, monitor progress, and proctor tests.
• Support inclusive practices and adapt curriculum and materials for students with disabilities.
• Work with paraprofessionals to support student needs and lead behavior plans as needed.
• Establish effective communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate in department, grade level, campus, and LEA meetings and trainings.
