Middletown Christian Schools is seeking a Junior High softball head coach to lead our program at the Franklin campus. This seasonal contracted position supports the athletic department under the Athletic Director and requires a commitment to our Christ-centered mission and safe coaching practices.

Responsibilities include managing equipment, supervising athletes, and coordinating practices and games while upholding school standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Background check: acceptable BCI and FBI report.

Middletown Christian Schools is looking for a Junior High softball head coach who embraces our vision, mission, and core values. We are a ministry of Grace Baptist Church and seek to be a Christ-centered educational institution that teaches from a biblical worldview. A person who seeks this position should be one who is convinced that God has called him/her to the ministry of coaching in a Christian school.

Note: The position is contingent on having enough students signed up to play.

Coaching Qualities:

• Should have complete knowledge of the sport
• The ability to teach fundamentals, skills, rules, and regulations of the sport
• Be able to organize, plan, and execute practice sessions
• Demonstrates strong leadership in sportsmanship, integrity, and character development
• Detail orientated
• Have the desire and ability to establish rapport with student athletes and their families
• Must be familiar with all safety regulations (i.e. Lindsay’s Law)

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for issuing, maintaining, and collecting of equipment
• Supervision of student athletes

Additional working conditions may include:

• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
• Travels to games and practices.
• Occasional operation of your own vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
• Mainly to and from home to practice or games.
• Majority of the time, school transportation will be provided for away games.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items athletic/sport/gym related materials or equipment. e.g., paper boxes, deliveries of supplies and equipment, ball carts, floor mats.
