JOB SUMMARYTo plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
JOB TITLE: Teacher
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all students.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques.
- Work collaboratively with building administration, teachers, parents/guardians, and students.
- Establish an effective rapport with students assigned.
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs.
- Utilize technology to support instruction.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Manage student behavior.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal, including presentations.
- Ability to use basic, job-related equipment.
- Be self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances and a diverse group of individuals.
- Knowledge of NCLB (No Child Left Behind), FERPA, and other federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Passionate about improving urban public education and devoted to making a difference.
EDUCATION:- Bachelor’s degree or above in Education.
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT- 9.5 month employee.
