Job summary

La Purísima School in Orange County, part of Pax Christi Academies, seeks a Full-Time Junior High Math/Science Teacher to inspire grades 6–8 with standards-based instruction and Catholic values.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's in Math/Science/Education, with teaching credentials preferred, and experience in middle school; strong classroom management and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Education, or related field.
• Valid teaching credential preferred.
• Prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in math and/or science for junior high students.
• Design engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application.
• Incorporate hands-on learning experiences, including labs, projects, and interactive activities.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide clear, timely feedback to support growth.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintain a structured, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment.
• Model Christian behavior and support the spiritual development of students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with parents, faculty, and administration.
• Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, retreats, and community events.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned in support of the school’s mission and operations
