Sikeston Public Schools seeks a Junior High Teacher Assistant to support instructional activities and adapt materials under the guidance of teachers and administrators. The role emphasizes reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining student focus.

Responsibilities include supporting instructional strategies, handling clerical duties, and supervising students in common areas such as the cafeteria or at recess.

Formación

• Substitute teaching certificate is required and either a minimum of sixty college credit hours, or paraprofessional exam.
• Works well with children.
• Ability to follow the instruction of the teacher(s) to whom the assistant is assigned.
• Must successfully pass a background check; strong organizational, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills; computer knowledge and assistive technology.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with instruction and activities as assigned by teacher.
• Prepare, create, and/or adapt instructional materials as directed by teacher.
• Assist the teacher with implementation of instructional strategies that respect individual differences and foster student achievement.
• Perform support tasks to enhance the learning environment.
• Supervise students in cafeteria or at recess as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student, parent, and classroom information.
• Carry out tasks under pressure and deadlines.
• Perform routine instructional and non-instructional support tasks, including clerical duties and use of assistive equipment or technology.
