Under the general supervision of the Athletic Director and Principal, coaches plan, organize, and lead practices that align with their sport. They analyze strengths and weaknesses of athletes and opposing teams to develop strategies and select team members for competitions. Coaches play a vital role in motivating and mentoring students, fostering sportsmanship, and instilling respect for the game. They ensure all students have equal opportunity to participate and benefit from the school's athletic programs, serving as role models and educators to help student‑athletes grow on and off the field.
This position reports to the Athletic Director, who provides overall objectives and evaluates performance in conjunction with the high school principals.
The role requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50+ pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision.
Noise level ranges from moderate to quite loud depending on activity in the sporting arena.
