Job summary

Prairie Hills Junior High School seeks an English Language Arts teacher to deliver standards-based reading, writing, speaking, and listening instruction to students in grades 6–8, fostering literacy and critical thinking.

Requires an Illinois Professional Educator License with an ELA endorsement for 5–8 or 9–12, a Bachelor's in Education or English, knowledge of Illinois Learning Standards, and at least two years of classroom experience. 10-month, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Illinois PEL with ELA endorsement for grades 5–8 or 9–12.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, or related field.
• Knowledge of Illinois Learning Standards for ELA.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement rigorous lessons aligned with district curriculum and Illinois Learning Standards.
• Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening with student-centered instruction.
• Design lessons incorporating literature, nonfiction, poetry and informational text to develop comprehension.
