Job summary

Nimble is seeking a qualified coach to help student athletes focus on academics while excelling in athletics. The role reports to the Principal or Athletic Director and involves direct coaching, practice planning, and game scheduling in cooperation with the athletics department.

The successful candidate will plan and run practices, coordinate inter-scholastic contests, and work with the athletics director to ensure safe facilities and fair eligibility criteria for competition.

Qualifications

• Employment as a teacher preferred, but only required for certain positions.
• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the tasks listed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Works closely with the athletics director in scheduling inter-scholastic contests.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate after inventory and inspection is complete.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in inter-scholastic competition in his sport.
• Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and established and oversees penalties for breach of standards by individual students.
