Job summary

Legacy Middle School seeks an Athletic Coach/Cheerleading staff member to build and maintain a quality intramural program emphasizing best-practice, student-focused instruction and growth opportunities for students.

The role requires coordinating practice schedules, games, and events, maintaining equipment, and promoting a positive, harassment-free instructional culture while safeguarding student welfare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred.
• Appropriate Professional Educators License (PEL) preferred -OR- High School Diploma required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification recommended.
• Certification with American Sport Education Program and/or valid Illinois Teaching certificate.
• Experience coaching and supervising intramural activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional strategies engaging all students and differentiate for ability levels.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, administrators, and staff.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement and behavior.
• Manage uniforms, equipment, and incident prevention for the activity.
• Coordinate practice schedules, games, and events with stakeholders.
• Officiate intramural events when necessary and ensure safety protocols.
