Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Coaching and/or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in the operation of the athletic program.
• Coaches and instructs players regarding rules, equipment, and techniques as determined by the head coach.
• Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Participates in team prospects meetings and encourages potential athletes to join the sport.
• Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and related duties as determined by the Head Coach.
• Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
• Models sports‑like behavior and maintains conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Participates in parent nights, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Attends staff development meetings and clinics to improve coaching performance.
• Attend work regularly and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain harmonious relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
