Netchannels, a marketing agency, is looking for a Graphic Designer to render services for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in Washington DC.

The role is based at One Columbus Circle, NE, Washington, DC 20544 and focuses on entry-level graphic design production, applying the AO Style Manual-compliant formatting and branding standards. You will format templates, maintain the digital asset library, prepare files for print and digital production, and support accessibility tagging

Responsibilities

• Provide AO Style Manual-compliant graphic design support for daily operational needs across the Property, Printing, and Distribution Branch.
• Maintain visual continuity by applying templates, layouts, and branding guidelines across deliverables.
• Assist production continuity by layout tasks and file preparation during staffing gaps or surges.
• Organize and maintain the Branch's digital asset library with proper naming conventions and metadata.
• Apply basic Section 508 tagging to documents and files as directed.
• Produce accurate, polished deliverables within established timelines and quality standards.
• Assist senior designers with production tasks, handoffs, revisions, and template development.
• Ensure branding identity per AO Style Manual, typography, colors, logo treatments, and structure.

Job description

Netchannels is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to render services for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in Washington DC. This position is located in Washington DC: One Columbus Circle, NE, Washington, DC 20544. The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts is looking for entry-level graphic design production activities, application of AO Style Manual-compliant formatting and branding standards, template application to recurring and new materials, organization and maintenance of the Branch's digital asset library, file preparation and preflight for both digital and print production.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, AO Style Manual-compliant graphic design support for the Property, Printing, and Distribution Branch's daily operational needs, ensuring all design products reflect the AO's institutional identity and professional standards.
• Maintain visual continuity for ongoing publications, forms, presentations, and internal communications by applying established templates, layouts, and branding guidelines accurately and consistently across all deliverables.
• Support PPD production continuity by performing template-based layout tasks and file preparation activities that enable the Branch to sustain uninterrupted design production output during staffing gaps or surge periods.
• Organize, label, and maintain the Branch's digital asset library in accordance with AO file naming conventions, approved folder structures, and metadata standards, ensuring assets are accessible, current, and properly categorized.
• Apply basic Section 508 accessibility tagging to documents and digital files as directed, supporting AO's commitment to equitable access for all users of its communications and information products.
• Produce accurate, polished deliverables within established turnaround timelines and quality standards, meeting or exceeding the Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs) defined in Section 6 of this SOW.
• Assist senior graphic design staff with production tasks, file handoffs, design revisions, and template development as directed, contributing to the overall efficiency and output capacity of the Property, Printing, and Distribution Branch.
• Ensure all work products reflect AO's branding identity as prescribed in the current edition of the AO Style Manual, including approved typography, color systems, logo treatments, and document structure standards.

• Package files for archiving or handoff

Digital Asset Management

• Maintain digital asset libraries
• Apply AO naming conventions
• Archive completed project files
• Submit quarterly Digital Asset Audit Reports

Basic Section 508 Tagging

• Reading order
• Alt text
• Heading structure
• Metadata

Coordination and Reporting

• Participate in coordination meetings (not supervision meetings)
• Submit Weekly Status Reports summarizing deliverables, issues, and progress
