Job summary

Perpetua Resources is seeking an entry-level GIS Technician to support spatial data, mapping, and GIS services for the Stibnite Gold Project in Idaho. You will work under senior GIS staff to build datasets, produce maps, and support field GPS and drone workflows.

The role emphasizes developing technical depth in mine-context GIS, with progression toward the GIS Specialist role, and requires foundational GIS coursework and recent graduate status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related discipline; recent graduates encouraged.
• 0–2 years GIS experience; internship, capstone, or volunteer work valued.
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro and geoprocessing tools; basic spatial analysis.
• Familiarity with coordinate systems, projections, datums, and cartographic conventions.
• Strong Excel skills and data QA discipline.
• Interest in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Python scripting, drone data processing, and 3D mine modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain spatial datasets (vector, raster, LiDAR, point cloud) with metadata and naming conventions.
• Produce maps and visualizations to support mine engineering, geology, environmental, and permitting needs.
• Perform routine QA/QC to ensure topology, attributes, projections, and metadata are accurate.
• Support field GPS data collection, drone imagery processing, and integration of field data into GIS workflows.
• Assist with data organization, version control, and documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
