Job summary
Pike Corporation in Duluth, GA is seeking an entry-level GIS Technician to support Designers, Engineers, and GIS Management. You will perform cartographic displays and assist in tracking project status using ArcGIS Online.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and familiarity with ESRI products, AutoCAD, and CAD workflows; 0–2 years in GIS or CAD; some on-the-job training is provided.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years in GIS and/or CAD in the utility GIS sector preferred.
- Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS/ArcMap, AutoCAD, Microstation.
- Understanding of cartography, GIS data management, and QA/QC processes.
- Bachelor-level GIS degree preferred for advanced roles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare drawings using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
- Create web-based mapping tools (ArcGIS Online) and dashboards.
- Maintain graphical features in client GIS systems (ArcFM, Intergraph FRAMME, Small World, G-Tech).
- Learn client construction standards and utility information systems.
- Develop and maintain drawing standards (fonts, line weights, sheets, naming).
- Prepare documents and reports in MS Word/Excel/Access, Fulcrum, Nitro Pro, Acrobat.
- Assist with field data collection tools and GPS post-processing.
- Support GIS applications by data gathering and updating maps.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
