Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our growing team based in Whilton. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in the field while supporting office-based technical work. The role is approximately 70% site-based and 30% office-based, offering a diverse and engaging workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake site investigations including soil and groundwater sampling, in-situ testing, and logging of boreholes and trial pits.
  • Supervise subcontractors and liaise with clients and site personnel.
  • Assist in the preparation of Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and factual/interpretative reports.
  • Support contamination risk assessments, ground gas and groundwater monitoring, and laboratory scheduling.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and environmental regulations on-site.
  • Contribute to data analysis, report writing, and project documentation in the office.
  • Maintain accurate field records and project logs.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Environmental Science, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to sites.
  • Some prior experience (e.g., internship or graduate role) in site investigation or environmental consultancy preferred.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A proactive approach to work, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
