Data Analyst / Data Engineer – Junior Level Employment Type: Full -Time Location: Mark Center (Alexandria, VA) – 5 Days Onsite (Free onsite parking available) Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret or higher Salary: $75,500 – $85,000 with benefits

The Brite Group is seeking a Junior Data Analyst/Data Engineer with 2-3 years of experience supporting DoD stakeholders to analyze military, governmental, or business operations and deliver data-driven insights for decision-making, policy, and resource allocation. The ideal candidate brings a background in operations research, PPBE, capability development, modernizing data platforms, intelligence analysis, or financial data, along with strong skills in SQL, Python, and Microsoft Access. Experience with ETL tools, large datasets, and visualization platforms such as Power BI or Qlik is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Military or operations research-related fields (operations, deployment readiness, financial data).


• Experience working with Access databases and advanced Excel skills.


• Strong experience extracting datasets from various data sources using SQL and/or Python.


• Some experience with ETL tools and handling large datasets.


• Intelligence collection, analysis, or force/capability development experience is an added plus.

Technical Skills

• At least 2 years of experience working with DoD stakeholders to collect, maintain, and refine complex datasets.


• Proven expertise in Structured Query Language (SQL) and client interfacing.


• Professional experience extracting datasets from multiple sources using SQL and/or Python.


• Direct experience with ETL/ELT tools and managing large, complex datasets.


• Proficiency with advanced Excel features and functions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Qlik or Power BI.


• Familiarity with Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes.
