This position is remote. Candidates in the DC metro area are preferred for in-person attendance at occasional onsite meetings in Silver Spring or Rockville, MD.
A qualified candidate must have or be able to attain a Public Trust clearance. Must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, or EAD/GC.
Position Summary
In this collaborative, hands-on role, you will work with your Precise team, other companies, and federal employees to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and test engineers to produce high-quality software that delivers business value, following established design patterns and processes.
- Independently develop, code, modify, test, and debug application programs of varying complexity.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues within assigned applications.
- Assist less experienced staff with user specifications, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Work with business users to develop and implement acceptance tests to ensure the product meets requirements.
- Implement improvements for documentation and development process standards; actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
Skills Requirements
- Experience in full software lifecycle development with Java/J2EE, JavaScript, REST/JAX/Soap Web Services, WebLogic, Spring Framework, Oracle 11g/12c, PL/SQL, Maven, HTML5, Log4j, JUnit, and Unix/Linux.
- Experience developing applications using Angular and Java technologies.
- Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and rule engine processing.
- Experience with detailed design, performance optimization, reliability, and continuous integration.
- Experience managing overlapping efforts in a parallel development environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including working directly with customers.
- Ability to prioritize, report status, and multitask effectively.
- Experience with Subversion, JIRA, HP ALM.
- Knowledge of FDA Imports domain and familiarity with Agile methodology.
