Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Sprinkler Designer I to design and coordinate fire protection drawings and hydraulic calculations. You will review drawings, perform site surveys, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards while coordinating with other trades.

The role requires AutoCAD or SprinkCAD experience, NICET Level I or II, and 1–3 years of related work. Company offers paid holidays, benefits, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience with AutoCAD or SprinkCAD or background in mathematics.
• NICET Level I or II.
• Ability to review architectural drawings, mechanical, site, structural and complete site surveys.
• Monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Desirable: NICET I or II, or equivalent experience; drafting degree in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and submit Fire Protection drawings, hydraulic calculations and material schedules.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and building code requirements.
• Provide updates to purchasing to meet installation schedules and change orders.
• Produce shop lists for fabrication of system piping.
• Integrate other mechanical systems for successful coordination with fire suppression.
