Job summary

SOCOTEC Global is seeking Entry Level Field Technicians to perform construction materials testing on active job sites, including concrete, soil, and asphalt. You will collect samples, run tests, and report results under ASTM standards. Training will be provided and you may assist in the lab as needed.

The role is on-site, outdoors, with opportunities to advance as you gain ACI certification and field experience across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Willing to obtain ACI Field Grade 1 Certification within 6 months.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of standardized field tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials at active job sites, using established testing methods.
• Report test results accurately, meeting ASTM and other standardized reporting requirements.
• Perform maintenance and verifications of testing equipment to ensure accuracy in the field.
• Assist in the construction materials testing lab when needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Job Description

Trade your desk for a hard hat. We're looking for Entry Level Field Technicians to perform Construction Materials Testing directly on job sites — sun on your back, boots in the dust, and concrete under your hands. No two days look the same: one day you're testing concrete pours at a high-rise site, the next you're out on a road project checking soil and asphalt. Candidate's responsibilities include performing field tests related to concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable testing standards and methods.

What You’ll Do

• - Perform a variety of standardized field tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials at active job sites, using established testing methods.
• - Report test results accurately, meeting ASTM and other standardized reporting requirements.
• - Perform maintenance and verifications of testing equipment to ensure accuracy in the field.
• - Assist in the construction materials testing lab when needed.
• - Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors on active job sites in varying weather conditions.
• - Comfort moving between different job sites as testing schedules require.
• - Technical knowledge/understanding and a desire to learn technical skills — full training will be provided.
• - Willingness to obtain ACI Field Grade 1 Certification within 6 months of hiring.
• - Strong mathematic skills.
• - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
