Job summary

Colorado State University’s Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) seeks an entry-level Environmental Compliance Specialist to support the Fort A.P. Hill Environmental Division on-site in Virginia.

You will assist with inspections, records, and regulatory documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. You will perform data entry, assist with SWPPP/SPCC/Hazardous Waste plans, and help educate installation personnel on environmental requirements,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
HAZWOPER certification (40-hour) required or to be completed after hire.
Custodianship of environmental records and field data is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with routine environmental compliance inspections of training areas, ranges, and facilities.
Collect and maintain environmental records including permits and monitoring data.
Support preparation and submission of regulatory documentation to EPA/DEQ and others.
Assist with SWPPP, SPCC, and Hazardous Waste plans and updates.
Perform data entry and basic analysis using Excel and Army systems.
Support incident responses, investigations, and communications to staff.
